[edit] History

At the beginning of the 2004-2005 school term Haybridge (which was a 13-18 school) merged with Hagley Middle School (which was a 9-13 school) which made a 11-18 school, Hagley Middle School was served by lots of smaller first schools, those first schools have now been made primary schools to serve Haybridge. Haybridge has just recently merged into 1 main site located on Brake Lane. It changed september 2006 as previously it was 2 sites, 1 for the lower years (7 and 8) and one for the higher years and sixth form. To accommodate the extra students a considerable amount of building work has taken place. (with a total building cost of around £5 million).

[edit] Academics

The Ofsted Report (2004-2005) for the school showed that the school is performing well. All marks given were 1 (for Excellent) except a 2 (for Good) for Food and Health. Since the Ofsted report, the school has been named "Outstanding" by Ofsted.[1]

The GCSE and A level results of 2006 showed that 98% of students achieved 5A* - C GCSE or equivalent passes or more.[2]

Dr. Melvyn Kershaw (now in the post of school principal) was delighted for both students and staff. "Value-added data is the real measure of a successful school; I offer my congratulations to students and staff alike on this outstanding achievement."
