[edit] Puʻu ʻŌʻō
The naming of Puʻu ʻŌʻō seems to have a different story (C. Heliker, D.A. Swanson, T.J. Takahashi: The Puʻu ʻŌʻō-Kūpaianaha Eruption of Kīlauea Volcano, Hawaiʻi: The First 20 Years. In: U.S. Geological Survey Professional Paper. 1676, 2003. Online Version). As far as I know, it was not a hill before the vent started growing there. --ThT 16:34, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
