Hawkeye Community College

Hawkeye Community College (HCC) is a community college, with its main campus located just outside Waterloo, Iowa. HCC has several outlets in nearby towns.

The Hawkeye Institute of Technology (HIT) opened on July 1, 1966, replacing the Waterloo Area Vocational School. In 1992, Hawkeye became "comprehensive," adding courses in the liberal arts and sciences. In July 1993, the school's name changed from HIT to HCC. The school's president is Greg Schmitz.
