Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park opened in May 1999. Opened by Waters of Kapolei, LLC, the park occupies 25 acres of land and has 26 rides and attractions. It is located in Oahu's Second City of Kapolei and is currently the only water park in the state of Hawaii. In March 2008, an agreement was announced in which the park will be sold to Village Roadshow Limited, making Hawaiian Waters the Australian company's first theme park in the United States. The $27 million dollar deal closed in May.

In May 2007, Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park opened Island Adventure Golf, an 18-hole high-end miniature golf facility. The miniature golf course features lush tropical landscape, nine ADA compliant holes, a putting green, surfboard hazards, water ways, water fall, large ocean and beach area, mock fish and sea turtles, lava rock formations and coral reef displays.

[edit] Community

Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park is highly supportive of community events and organizations. Each year, the Park hosts the American Heart Association, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Hawaii, Arthritis Foundation Hawaii, Lions Clubs in Hawaii, United Cerebral Palsy, Konishiki Foundation, various religious groups, and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society by providing its facility for fundraisers, charity walks, and special events for free to the organizations.

In addition, Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park opens its facilities to local schools. The Kapolei High School’s Women’s Water Polo Team uses the Park’s wave pool for free to practice and scrimmage against other schools since it does not have a pool of its own.
