[edit] History

[edit] 2004 - First Season

The park opened on Memorial Day Weekend of 2004, with two body slides, two tube slides, a lazy river, a half-pipe slide, a wavepool, a cafe, a small gift shop, and changing rooms. The park offered free parking, life jackets, and inner tubes. The 2003 season ended on Monday, September 6. June 2004 was at the time the wettest month on record for the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex[citation needed] which resulted in lower ticket sales in the beginning, but Hawaiian Falls The Colony proved to be a popular summer destination for families in the area.

[edit] 2005 - Second Season

Hawaiian Falls opened for the 2005 season on May 20th under new management with the motto of "Bringing Families Closer Together". The park introduced Private Cabanas which offered private shaded areas to guests for an additional fee.

[edit] 2006 - Third Season

The season opened on May 26th and ran through September 4. The park also introduced the VeggieTales characters, Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber. Online Ticket Sales also began.

[edit] 2007 - Fourth Season

Hawaiian Falls opened its fourth season on May 25th. The park also put stricter rules on outside food and drinks by only allowing small coolers and charging for large coolers. The park also added a Pizza Hut Express to the cafe. Hawaiian Falls The Colony planed to open the Honolulu Lulu slide complex in 2007, but due to weather and money constraits, the project was delayed heavily. The Honolulu Lulu did not open in the 2007 general operating season, but did open on September 22nd for Customer Appreciation Day.
