Hawaii Free Press

Hawaii Free Press is a twice monthly newspaper published in Hilo, Hawaii since January 2005.
An alternative newspaper founded by Andrew Walden, Hawaii Free Press has as its motto, "The untold story, the unspoken opinion, the other side." The paper's circulation is 30,000; it is distributed at over 400 retail locations on Hawai`i Island, Maui, Kaua`i, Moloka`i and Lana`i.

Although Hawaii Free Press does not have a website, many HFP articles are previewed at HawaiiReporter.com of which Malia Zimmerman is the president. [1]
Hawaii Free Press is not affiliated in any way with the now-defunct Honolulu-based counterculture paper of the same title, which began publishing in 1968 as The Roach.[2], [3]
