Havoc Pennington

Robert Sanford Havoc Pennington is well-known in the free software community due to his work on GNOME, Metacity, GConf, and D-BUS. He works for startup LiTL, "developing a consumer product that involves hardware, software, and online services".

Before LiTL he was a Red Hat Desktop manager/engineer for 9 years. Before his Red Hat position he was one of the main developers of Debian GNU/Linux, and also founded freedesktop.org in 2000.

More recently, Havoc has led the development of the Mugshot project and promoted the idea of the Gnome Online Desktop.

Pennington is a 1998 graduate of the University of Chicago.
