Havelock North High School (usually abbreviated HNHS) is a secondary school in Havelock North, New Zealand. HNHS is host to a number of international full-fee paying students.
HNHS has a Head Boy and Head Girl chosen by the Form 7 students at the start of the year. HNHS is split into 4 groups or "houses" which compete against each other during the year in events such as Swimming Sports, Athletics and Choir. The Houses are currently Tainui(Yellow), Kauri(Blue), Rata(Red) and Miro(Orange), each named after the Maori names of trees found in New Zealand.These houses each have a male leader and female leader known as the House Leaders. These are chosen by the 7th Formers within each house and confirmed by the Heads of each respective House.
Havelock North High School 1XI Girls Cricket Team is currently the national secondary school girls cricket team title holder. HNHS also hosts the national orienteering secondary School girls champions who are scheduled to go to Scotland for the World Orienteering Championships in April 2008.
