[edit] The Story Behind The Song

Have you seen her is T-Pain’s first single from his third album, “3 Rings”, due for release in the summer of 2008. It is a collaboration between T-Pain and the Jamaican MC Juxidi, and is a blend of Dancehall and Crunk with a signature T-Pain hook using his usual Auto-Tune effect.
The team at Konvict Muzik and Universal Music Group (UMG) has been working extremely hard to keep the song from leaking until its official release date; however their plans actually failed due to a very interesting accident.
On Friday, the 21st.December.2007, the song’s producer was enjoying a night out with a few of his friends (some of which were actually UMG staff) in Miami’s infamous gentlemen’s club “Magic City” when an incident took place to severely damage their festive mood. The producer’s brand new Cadillac Escalade EXT truck was attacked by a group of thugs in the early hours of Saturday, the 22nd, and even though they failed to steal the vehicle, they did take a few valuables including:

  • A brand new G5 AppleBook.
  • A diamond bracelet.
  • A Blackberry phone.
  • Three CD’s full of new and unreleased Konvict Muzik material, including Colby O’Donis’s initial demo which was presented to Akon before he was signed to Konvict Musik; an exclusive dirty south remix of Ray L’s single “My girl’s gotta girlfriend”; and most importantly, an initial mix of T-Pain & Juxidi’s banger, “Have you seen her?”.

Within days, the song began to surface on the internet on various websites and downloading engines, but most infamously, on the popular video sharing site, YouTube. A certain user (with a channel named, konvictjoints) prepared a video for the song by blending scenes from T-Pain’s most popular hits, and within days, the song became a youtube sensation gathering an unsurpassed and mesmerizing following. Expectely, other users followed suit by uploading the video.
Konvict Muzik and UMG were very closely monitoring the positive response that the song has gathered so far and still intend to use the song as the first single on T-Pains album.
