Have You Ever Been Lonely?

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Have You Ever Been Lonely?" is a popular song.

The music was written by Peter De Rose, the lyrics by Billy Hill (writing under the name of George Brown). The song was published in 1932.

Ted Lewis and Ray Noble had successful records in 1933. A small cover war emerged between Jaye P. Morgan and Karen Chandler in 1955. The song was a pop chart entry by the Caravelles, a British girl group, in 1964. An electronically-edited duet featuring Jim Reeves and Patsy Cline, who never recorded together while alive, became a top 10 country-western hit in the early 1980s.

The song has been recorded by many singers, becoming a standard.
