Hausham is located about 45 km away in the south of Munich, between Miesbach and Schliersee

Parts of Hausham are surrounded by a mountain chain, consisted of the mountains Huberspitz (1.052 m) and the Neureuth in Tegernsee (1.261 m).

The current town Hausham arose at the 27th April 1922 out of the town [Agatharied|Agatharied]. This happened due to massive growth which resulted out of Hausham's success in coal mining.

The first brown coal mine was opened in the year 1860 but couldn't compete with the cheaper fossil oil and mineral coal and closed 106 years later.

Hausham has two stops (Hausham and Agatharied on a direct railway line to Munich. The line is operated by the private railway Bayerische Oberlandbahn Besides traveling by train, Hausham and its districts are part of short-distance traffic BUS line RVO.
