Your Sonic images
Please stop uploading these to wikipedia, these images taken from a camera show them on a TV screen, and they all appear unprofessional, I have removed them as all of the other images are "clean," taken from PC versions or emulators. Not to mention we already have plenty of images and don't need to go past Fair Use, if not already. 阿修羅96 01:17, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

WikiProject Ice Hockey Newsletter Dear Hasek is the best/Archive2007c)! You are receiving this newsletter because you have signed up as a member of WikiProject Ice Hockey. The purpose of this newsletter is to update on the goings on of the project, as there have been major changes, and a lot of new recognized content in the past few weeks. If you are an inactive user, you probably won't recognize the new and improved state of the WikiProject! From the project, Maxim. edit

Article Improvement By Maxim Upon some discussion on the WikiProject talk page, the Article Improvement Drive page was revamped by Krm500 and Maxim. It was renamed Wikipedia:WikiProject Ice Hockey/Article Improvement, and it includes two section. The first section is called articles in dire need of improvement. It list articles, usually important, that are in very poor shape. The second section is called requested help. Users list an article they request help improving a certain article, which will facilitate collaboration, which is the aim of any WikiProject. There is one article currently listed there, Henrik Lundqvist, here. The goal is to at least get it to Good article status. edit
Diacritics By Maxim In the past few weeks, there has been quite heated discussion about the use of diacritics in article name. The current guideline is using diacritics in the pages of articles of all player names which require them, but redirects are exempt. edit
Task forces By Maxim This task force was initiated by Krm500. Its current goal is to improve Henrik Lundqvist to Good or Featured article status. It covers all Swedish clubs, leagues and competitions and associated articles, players and coaches that are Swedish, or have played/coached for a Swedish club, and arenas in Sweden. They plan to eventually operate as a sort of a sub-project, which will have its own articles for creation, ranking importance and quality of articles, and co-ordinate article improvement. Its current members are Krm500, Bamsefar75, and CLAES. This task force was initiated by Bsroiaadn. Its goal is to improve New Jersey Devils to Featured Topic status. Although it currently meets the required article count, the task force wishes to improve it further. Its area of coverage is very similar to the Sweden Ice Hockey task force. Its members are Bsroiaadn, JHMM13, FutureNJGov, Sportskido8, Michael Greiner, JRWalko, and Soxrock. edit

Hello WikiProject Ice Hockey/Participant
I am an advisor to the National Hockey League. With your help over the next few months I plan to review and correct any information on wikipedia relating to the National Hockey League, its franchises, players, executives and partership organisations. I am here to provide you with information. Your work is appreciated. --NHLsource 18:07, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User%3A123.2.168.215&diff=151842784&oldid=151842699
Someone put something on the user page instead of the talk page. I moved it to the talk page. Then you restored it. That's not helpful. If you are an administrator, could you please delete the user page, as it is an IP address shared by many different people, and its not appropriate to have a user page. 123.2.168.215 15:50, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
Moving the list of "Selected home game consoles" in SNES
I'm guessing you use a high-resolution display, since you stated you are "removing space" in this edit. However, I ask you to reconsider your edit for two reasons:
- The list of selected home game consoles doesn't actually belong in the references section. They are actually cross-references to related articles, which typically go in the "See also" section.
- On a low-resolution display, placing the list there squishes the references and results in much more unused space beneath the box. Resize your browser to 800x600 to see what I mean.
Thanks. Anomie 16:28, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- Ok, I had a feeling someone was going to tell me something about that template. Well, only if the See also was not just above the references, and I prefer to leave out huge gaps on articles; it looks messy. (Btw, I won't be responding for an other three hours or so, because I'm going golfing. Sit tight, I'll be back. --Hasek is the best 16:33, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- SNES#See also is not actually just above the references, we have SNES#Content notes in between. As for gaps, as I mentioned we can apparently either have a relatively small gap above the references or have the references themselves squished into narrow columns with unused space to the right. Anomie 18:01, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

-
- Ok, well the second option would be nice, but is there any way to briefen the source info? The only thing the reader really needs to know is the url, date and title. --Hasek is the best 20:04, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
-
-
-
-
- But however, if you look at Dominik Hasek's article, there are only a few references that exceed one line. And it doesn't matter if the template stays in the ref heading or not, because as long as the sources are there, it's fine with me. --Hasek is the best 20:18, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

-
-
-
- Oh yeah, if all else fails, we'll use a scroll box for the sources, 75 sources should be enough for one. --Hasek is the best 20:28, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

- Actually, I think moving it up to the Market share heading, because the template is inside the see also there. I'll do it now. --Hasek is the best 20:47, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

(←) The references in Dominik Hasek all take up several lines on my display. Scrollboxes for references are ugly, unnecessary, and interfere with printing. Moving the box up to content sections is even worse than moving it down to the References. It's "See also" type of content, it should go in "See also". I've undone all the random moving you did, and instead left-aligned the portal link and removed the {{clear}}, which should hopefully take care of the issue. Anomie 00:42, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

User:Tiptoety auto-reverted a number edits to this article claiming I was committing vandalism. I believe my rewrites correct a number of grammar and other issues. (responded on your talk) - Hasek is the best 18:18, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
- Hmm, I think he spotted as you deleting portions of the article. I'd suggest you discuss it with him. Sometimes those controversial reverts happen on Wikipedia, called "a good faith" revert, meaning that tone, manual of style, unnsessary loss of info or grammar was the edit, however it was reverted. So again, you discuss it with him because I'm not the type of person who likes to handle good faith edits without knowing a thing or two about the person or structure. --Hasek is the best 18:18, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
Career Statistics
After discovering you went on a bit of an edit spree changing the table format for career statistic tables, I have to remind you to stick to the Player pages format. Only goaltenders stats should use the wide (width=90%). All other skaters should either be BORDER="0" CELLPADDING="3" CELLSPACING="0" ID="Table3
, or for extra long tables such as Mark Messier, use BORDER="0" CELLPADDING="0" CELLSPACING="0" width="75%"
. Thanks- IrisKawling 23:48, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

Hi, as you may or may not know, some of us at WP:HOCKEY have banded together and are trying to get the various NHL Trophy pages to FT status. Your previous edits against me
On one comment, you said I know nothing about hockey. If you think so, then why did I join Wikipedia:WikiProject Ice Hockey? If you know more than me, surely you? (sarcastically). (I actually mean it.) And btw you haven't said anything about your username. "CJ DUB"? What kinda last name is that? And, I'd love to hear what your favourite team is...probably those teams that get about 60-70 point a year, such as the Phoenix Coyotes. Mine's the Ottawa Senators, and they did pretty darn good, eliminating the President's Trophy winning team, Buffalo Sabres.
I actually don't seem like a 12 year old do I? If I did, Id B talkin slang like dis but no, and I was born on January 8; so I'm just past a week of being in the seventh grade. And you know, there's other 12 year olds on Wikipedia too. I'm responding because of your very immature comments. And, mature people help Wikipedia by reverting vandalism, such as blanking pages. And apparantely, you seem to get a lot of notices on this page because of your controversial edits. I do have a list of reasons why Hasek rocks, but on a talk archive. Lastly I'd like to say: Hasek didn't get injured! Woo! And better yet, he re-signed! --Hasek is the best 21:31, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- Wow. Welcome to 2 months ago. Just because you join a group on Wikipedia that seeks to improve ice hockey, DOES NOT MEAN YOU HAVE ANY IDEA ABOUT HOCKEY, or even know how to write an article. It just means you know how to push a button to join. Good for you. Don't EVER post on my discussion page again. CJ DUB 03:49, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

Talkpage comments
Please do not edit-war to add back unwanted comments that another user has removed from his or her own talkpage. This practice is not helpful and tends to drag disputes out rather than help resolve them. In addition, it is important to remain civil at all times, especially in edit summaries, even when you perceive that another user is being hostile or provocative. I know that this was a very isolated problem, and thanks for your cooperation. Newyorkbrad 05:13, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

Deleting Warnings
...I saw your note to an IP on their page. Just FYI, it's OK to delete from your own talk page. We strongly ENCOURAGE archiving, but the community has taken the position that the warnings remain in the page's talk history, and we as admins usually leave pretty good edit summaries so we can find them quickly. No harm done, just wanted to be sure you knew what the policy was.
I also mirror NewYorkBrad's comment above - please don't edit war them back into a user's page. - Philippe | Talk 04:15, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
- Regardless of exigent speculative circumstances, we follow the policies as they are written. The user has the right to delete warnings from his own page. It's not the way I'd have written it, but it's the policy we have. - Philippe | Talk 04:18, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

- Agreed... please, stop replacing warnings that I am removing from my IP's talk page. Especially since it's shared, just allow the warnings to remain viewable in history. 66.28.71.162 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.28.71.162 (talk) 16:19, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

Wiki Violation
Dear Hasik,
Concerning your recent harassment of me for removing a section from the article on wikipedia that violates basic wiki standards as it is completely un-verifiable, and without any sources, I am asking you to back off, otherwise I will have you banned for both breaking the rules, and harassment. 216.201.33.27 03:12, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Just a minute, the heading is for a topic that so far has not been proven even exists. It doesn't have to be included, and what's more as nobody but me has even contributed to the talk pages to discuss the section, I find you remarks outragious.
At any rate, I didn't write that section, nor do I care about researching it, but if somebody wants to have it in there, then they should research it and find sources for it. At any rate the entire section does not meet wiki standards of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Verifiability, and therefore should be deleted until it does. To include it is continued and deliberate breach of wiki standards. And as it is not sourced, and makes statements about men that are un-porven, that also constitutes POV, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Neutral_point_of_view
At present this article has two major violations, so quite reverting this section, until you source it. 216.201.33.27 03:25, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

License tagging for Image:Senatorsupdate.png
Thanks for uploading Image:Senatorsupdate.png. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Prince of Wales Trophy
The page is looking pretty good, I think the history section could use a couple more sources, then it will be ready. Also, I think the entire table should be amalgamated and you could add a "definition history" list in the history section, something like this, but it's your call. Also, it wouldn't hurt to mark colour the teams in the table that have won the cup. -- Scorpion0422 23:46, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Featured Topic Drive By Maxim Started by User:Scorpion0422, the aim of this drive is to make NHL awards a featured topic. A featured topic is basically a set of very high quality articles (good articles and featured articles/lists). In this case, the topic is NHL awards. Many users have helped, including Scorpion0422, Resolute, Serte, Hasek is the best, Maxim, Croat Canuck, Spike Wilbury, FutureNJGov, and T Rex/Dinosaur puppy. The progress has been very good; there are 12 featured lists promoted, and 2 good articles:
Check the project page if you are interested in helping out. Although it's closer to being done than not, there's still work to be done. The next topic that might be tackled is Stanley Cup, but this remains purely speculative and in discussion. |
