Powerset, Inc. is a new Internet search engine company currently building a transformative consumer search engine based on natural language processing. Powerset's technology is based on software exclusively licensed from Palo Alto Research Center, Inc.. Founded in 2006, the company is privately held and based in San Francisco.

Powerset was founded by Lorenzo Thione, Barney Pell and Steve Newcomb.
