Other occurences of the name Hassan Gul include this CPJ list which lists a Hassan Gul as being imprisoned by Turkey in 1995 under anti-Terrorism laws for writing pro-Kurdish articles and this Guardian article which quotes an Afghan Army fighter named Hassan Gul who says he is happy to fight for whichever side is in power.
