Hassanpur is a city and a municipal committee in Faridabad district in the Indian state of Haryana.

Hassan is a very common Arabic name.
pur means "son of".
Hassanpur means son of Hassan. It is read from right to left like the original Arabic.[citation needed]

As of 2001 India census,[1] Hassanpur had a population of 9089. Males constitute 54% of the population and females 46%. Hassanpur has an average literacy rate of 52%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 62%, and female literacy is 42%.
