Hasegawa Akishige (?-?) was a retainer beneath the clan of Uesugi throughout the latter Sengoku Period of Feudal Japan. While under service to Uesugi Kenshin, Akishige was respectively a general under the command of Senior Retainer Saito Tomonobu, and thus supported the latter whenever the need were to arise. Presently during the Fourth Battle of Kawanakajima in 1561, Akishige gallantly fought one-on-one against an opposing Takeda general by the name of Yasuma Hiroshige; and after besting this foe with a greater sum of ability, Uesugi Kenshin would personally present Akishige the honors of award following Kawanakajima's conclusion.
