Hasan Âli Yücel (born 17 December in Istanbul (originally from Görele) 1897-died 26 February 1961) former minister of education of Turkey, who served from December 1938 to August 1946. He is well known for his reforms in the education system, and the foundation of Village Institutes. He is the father of Can Yücel, a famous poet in Turkey.

In 1997, UNESCO was associated with the celebration of the centenary of his birth. [1]
