[edit] national missing persons page
You have just removed all of the new information I have placed on this page because one of the external links was inappropriate. Why did you not just remove that link then and explain why it was not appropriate - they are all legitimate sources of further information about the missing issue. The extra information is relevant and correct information about the charity and therefore is relevant to this article. I’m new to this so would appreciate an explanation of why this information can’t be placed here. (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 11:48, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
I've read both of those documents and I have copyright on all of the information, including the research. Surely it is better that I add this information and then people can amend if they feel fit. You removed ALL the information. Who esle in the world is going to know about the history of an organisation, other than those who experienced it? (talk)
Ok I will go back and se what I need to change to adhere to these. The article was not meant as promotional one – merely information about the history and services of the charity. I will also provide references for all of this information. I appreciate your help. Thank you. (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 12:25, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for the barnstar! I felt chuffed but since I am such a Wiki rookie it also had the effect of making me want to prove that I deserve it ... result: a staggering amount of edits in the course of a few days.
I also have the impression that I have created a page User:Kathlutz/sandbox when I tried to build my own little sandbox. How do I get rid of this, and how DO I make a sandbox? I thought I had followed the instructions properly ... --Kathlutz (talk) 08:34, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] You have warned me about editing the world's largest flags article
You have called my edit vandalism. The flag claimed to be the world's largest does not meet English or American English definitions of a flag. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bunzo1980 (talk • contribs) 14:21, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for your help. I have tried to reason with the page's creator but he will not listen to reason. I even sent him the definitions of a flag from Webster's and Oxford English dictionary. I'm not sure what else to do. I've checked credible record keepers like the Guinness Book of Records and they agree that the Iraeli one is the biggest. The "flag" that he's talking about is a cresent moon etched onto the side of a mountain. Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bunzo1980 (talk • contribs) 14:33, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
I was annonymous before but I created an account becuase I was fed up of being accused of vandalism just for trying to make a point on factual accuracy. I'd be more than happy to share my real details to defend my point. I am an Oxford graduate and currently work for a national paper in the UK. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bunzo1980 (talk • contribs) 14:37, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
- Dear Harry,
- I am completely OK with waiting for a consensus, and even accepting that "A is not a flag" but "B is a flag" if a consensus is properly reached. Now as you can see in the talk page of List of largest flags, this user, calling him or herself an Oxford graduate, comes in, deletes info, and writes in the talk page, words that can be, for many, taken as an insult, and I quote: " graffiti in some dirt" or "go learn English" and so on, manners that an Oxford diploma can not obviously mask, now, what would you do if you were in our place?
- When coming about the political status of the page, as you suggest, I wanted to create such vexilliologic list since Wikipedia harboured no such articles on great flags, but pretty irrelevant ones (at least for us, the rest of the World) like "list of the largest texas flags", and, having grown up next to the megaflag, knowing it was actually the world's biggest, I wanted to share it. Of course, the list remains expansible for anyone wishing to contribute to it, but, since the page's creation, we enjoyed only limited contribution from other fellow Wikipedians. My proposition would be to link it internally to the Flag article, so more people can contribute to it that way, thus we can take ourselves away from the political fight that happens around this very subject. Cheers! --Eae1983 (talk) 10:40, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
- PS: I am removing the deletion tag, and linking the article to the Flag article. What we can do is also separate the cloth flags from the rest in two different columns.
I find it bemusing that Eae1983 is willing to go to any lengths to ensure the TRNC flag remains in the article — going to far as to create a section on "images of flags" — yet maintains he has no affiliation to, or agenda vis-à-vis the TRNC. Bunzo1980 (talk) 22:30, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] blanking speedy copyright text
Hi. :) Thanks for keeping an eye out for copyright problems. I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know that we do not blank articles tagged for WP:CSD#G12, but only those tagged with {{copyvio}}. (That's as set forth here.) I imagine this is because G12 text does not remain for long and it is easier to investigate if you don't have to look at the history to see the copyrighted text. I have deleted Richard S. Friedman, so this is just a point for future reference. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:28, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Ah, didn't realize.
Thanks! I searched through the talk. I must have skipped it. sohmc (talk) 16:50, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Vandalism?
I honestly didn't think I was causing vandalism to Ryan Ross's page because I wasn't trying to state anything untrue or lies, just what I have been hearing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bottle-Of-Musical-Joy (talk • contribs) 13:13, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Grand Theft Auto VI
I had nominated Grand Theft Auto VI for RfD because I didn't think there was an appropriate speedy category. Is CSD#A1 the right category (and how so)? Thanks. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 14:26, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] CSD Tags
I notice you have been reverting several edits from user Hashmi, Usman (talk · contribs), including blanking several redirects and requesting speedy deletion on them - using the criteria for blank pages with no context. Please stop - such edits are unhelpful, and might be viewed as disruptive. Thank you. UltraExactZZ Claims ~ Evidence 20:11, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
- Also, could you explain this edit? Why bother posting the notices if you plan to remove them? Thanks, UltraExactZZ Claims ~ Evidence 20:12, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
-
- OK, fair enough - no problem. I would ask, though, that you not blank redirects before tagging them for CSD, as redirects are judged by different standards than blank articles. If the target is deleted, then the redirect is tagged and deleted automatically, and there's a criteria just for redirects with bad targets. No worries. Thanks for the response, now I get it. UltraExactZZ Claims ~ Evidence 20:19, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

-
- Either way. I think the CSD tag trumps the redirect, as it's placed before all content - and a redirect only works if it is the first line of the page. I declined a couple, but the rest could go either way, so I'll leave them. Thanks again, UltraExactZZ Claims ~ Evidence 21:01, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] nocontext tags
-
- Similarly with Yuri Nazarov, please read the specifications for "no-context" at WP:CSD -- it is only for articles so unclear that one cannot tell what the article is actually about. If sufficient importance doubted for an article, use PROD or AfD. DGG (talk) 14:46, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] World Jewish Congress entry World Jewish Congress
You have reverted several times my editing of the World Jewish Congress entry. The existing text is both an attack piece and hopelessly out of date. Could you explain why my text -- irrespective of the photos -- was not acceptable to you, and why you accused me of vandalism? Thaidigsmann (talk) 15:37, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
