Here's some extra tips to help you get around in the 'pedia!

  • If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills the Sandbox is for you.
  • You can sign your name using three tildes (~). If you use four, you can add a datestamp too. Five will get you the datestamp only.
  • You may want to add yourself to the new user log.
  • If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.
  • If you're still entirely confused, or would like to get a better grasp of your wikipedia skills, and you have an IRC client (or don't mind getting one), check out the Bootcamp. It's not what it sounds like, but it is fun and can help you with your editing skills.
  • If you're bored and want to find something to do, try the Random page button in the sidebar, or check out the Open Task message in the Community Portal.

The image that you tried to include at Spider-Man 3 is a leaked image that is not meant for public use. In accordance to Wikipedia's fair use policy with images, this particular image cannot be used. There have been discussions about similar Venom images on the film article's talk page; please refer to the discussions to understand the reasoning behind the images' exclusion. —Erik (talk • contrib) - 20:15, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

Please review the points made at WP:FU#Policy. Film articles, including Spider-Man 3, cannot have an over-abundance of copyrighted images when there is no content to attribute to it. For example, the Sandman images tie into the Sandman section where the villain is discussed. However, there is only one sentence mentioning the new posters, and this does not qualify as a significant contribution that demands poster images to accommodate it. —Erik (talk • contrib) - 20:40, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
Please see Talk:Spider-Man 3/Archive 3#Lead Poster as to why we have not changed the poster on the article. In short, teaser posters are teaser posters, and if we changed them every time a new one came out we'd have a lot of unused images floating around Wikipedia, in which Wiki is not a repository of images, especially when you have to prove fair-use. A link was provided for the images, and that is sufficient. Once the official, final theatrical poster is released we will change the lead poster. It may be beneficial to read Wikipedia:Image to get a better understanding of what you can load, as I see you've had a lot of notices by the Image bots. Bignole 20:57, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

The article The Evil Dead Ressurection has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Anton Yelchin.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 21:01, 31 August 2007 (UTC).
