User talk:Harland1/Archive (November)

It is not reccomended that you inform a user that he is reported and may be blocked soon. Doing this will make the user do one of two things: the user will (1) know that he will be blocked soon and speed up his vandalism attacks before he is blocked, or will (2) vandalize your userpage or talkpage before he is blocked. Just letting you know. BeanoJosh 20:40, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
- Oh no problem. I did it a few times myself. I was advised in the exact same way and it made really good sense. I saw that you've had warnings about vandalism. Did your account get compromised? BeanoJosh 20:51, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
-
- Yeah, I remember those times. Before I registered this username, I would mess around on my school's IP address. Just a friendly warning: if you remove your own warnings, an administrator might feel that you shouldn't remove them and might restore them. I know that I've warned users and IP addresses before about blanking their own talk pages, which had many warnings on them. BeanoJosh 20:58, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

- I think you're fine now. If an admin would've wanted it back, it would've already happened. BeanoJosh 18:14, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

Your edits to my sandbox!
I assume you are a new user and unaware that this is not an appropriate action. User sandboxes are for drafting articles etc. and not in what is called 'main space'. You should not edit other user's sandboxes unless specifically invited to do so. If you would like further assistance in learning about Wikipedia please drop me a note on my Talk page. Ben MacDuiTalk/Walk 17:49, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
I'm sorry I don't understand when did I edit your sandbox? Could you please provide a link to the edit. Sorry if I have edited it. Harland1 18:49, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
Here [1] and here [2]. Also, you replied on the Sandbox's talk page, not my user talk page, which is here! I can see this might be getting confusing, so here is an overview. You have a user page and a talk page, so I assume you are familiar with that. As users get more experienced they tend to accumulate additional pages with the prefix (in your case) 'User:Harland1/' A useful one is a personal sandbox. You can call it anything you like within reason, and mine is prosaically enough User:Ben MacDui/Sandbox. I also have others, but if you want to see how elaborate this can get you might pay say User:Captain panda a visit. Hope that's helpful.
If you want to reply, you can do so here - I'll 'watch' out for one. Good luck with your wiki adventures. Ben MacDuiTalk/Walk 19:42, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
Blofeld's user page
No no mistake thanks for reverting the vandalism. I woulnd't have known - you all do a cracking job of protecting this site and I respect you greatly for it. It was a mild attack I think with some humour intended but no vandalism is funny , I have no idea who this guy is and it is a nuisance if it is repeated. Thanks , I guess having a spoof user name is a target but I don't think I've ever had my user page vandalised before !! ♦ King of Baldness ♦ "Talk"? 15:02, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
Your user page
I don't know if you realized it or not, but your userpage might be misleading to some users. It includes a banner that looks just like the banner Wikipedia uses when a user gets a new message, and could make your visitors think that they have messages when they don't. Would you like me to remove the banner for you? -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 16:34, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
List of One Piece episodes (US edition)
That edit was not "unconstructive", it is true. That is what happened in the English version. Per [3]
When Bellemere attacks Arlong, her rifle is changed to a shovel.
Arlong decides to send Bellemere to a dungeon as a punishment for not having enough to pay for her life. The consequence for not paying in the original is death.
I honestly have nothing against these edits, but it's what happened, and the guide is for the English version. Notice how it always uses "Zolo" instead of "Zoro", and it talks about Luffy using his sweat against Crocodile instead of his blood? However, I believe a more appropriate place to discuss this would be the talk page for that article. Matty-chan 21:55, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
I believe helen friedman made an incorrect judgement on macrophilia. I don't mean to cause a personal attack on her. I just think the micro/macro community would not agree with how she labeled macrophilia and how its "brought on by the trauma of a sadistic or overly dominant mother during childhood". I'm sorry about misunderstanding the meaning of test edits. I assumed it was referring to edits that the editor had not checked for grammar and such.

Thanks, I appreciate it! --AW 16:50, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

Yes, I think I`ve read about those statistics involving the amount of content submited by registered and unregistered users. It`s good to see that people from the inside acknowledge this fact :) Simbian (talk) 12:10, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

signature (close tags!)
Hi Harland1 - If you're going to include special formatting (like the Bold and DIV tag styling) on a signature, please be sure to close those tags. For instance, on User talk:Buellering, you didn't, so every comment after yours still had your styling. If this was simply a one-time mistake, sorry to bother you; but if not, please check your signature formatting, and if you need help with HTML let me know. --Lquilter (talk) 22:03, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
Spelling
Don't revert my edits. I'm fixing the spelling, with help from Firefox's built in spell-checker. Also, the S and Z thing does confuse me, but I've asked a question in the Miscellaneous village pump, located here. Vampire Warrior 16:19, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

Soo Bahk Do
Please refrain from modifying edits posted by user Soo Bahk Do.
SOO BAHK DO is a registered servicemark and MOO DUK KWAN and the FIST LOGO are registered trademarks representing to the public ONE thing, the ONLY SOURCE of legitimate training and certifications in the SOO BAHK DO MOO DUK KWAN martial art system. Counterfeiters and unauthorized users of trademarks are subject to legal action. The literal translations are subserviant to the trademark status of this phrase and representing this phrase as anything other than the trademark that it is, could contribute to public confusion and could even be considered tortuous interference of the trademark owner's rights.
The U.S. Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation http://soobahkdo.com has prevailed in 100% of all cases where it sought relief from individuals and organizations engaged in trademark infringement for use of the trademarked phrase MOO DUK KWAN the trademarked FIST LOGO and the service mark SOO BAHK DO. Furthermore, unauthorized "usage" of a trademark by an infringer is still a violation of federal trademark law regardless of the duration of infringement. Any "usage" of phrases or emblems that are confusingly similar to a registered trademark will be held by the courts as a violation of the trademark owner's rights. The court awarded damages available to a trademark holder may increase substantialy with the duration of an infringer's activity. Trademark infringement is a bit like speeding, just because you have gotten away with speeding for a long time does not make it legal and when you are caught speeding you will pay the price. http://soobahkdo.editme.com/TrademarksAndLogosPublic
