[edit] Osli's vandalism
Haris M, Live Forever, Bosniak, Bosoni, Emir Arven, HanzoHattori, Dado:
I would like to protect the Srebrenica massacre introduction from any further vandalism by Osli. He repeatedly deletes sentences from the intro that are accurate, true, relevant, and well referenced.
If we can all agree on the text of the intro, then it will become entirely clear to administrators that Osli is a vandal.
Please look at the intro as it stands now. It would be great if we could all leave it as it is now or quickly come to an introduction that we all can agree to. Currently, it explains in stark terms what happened. That is why Osli wants to delete the sentences. Make the truth less clear in the beginning, so that he can then throw in his “Defend Milosevic! Defend Serbia!” propaganda and potentially confuse some of the readers.
Please all take a look at the intro. Let’s all come to an agreed upon intro and let it stand. Then if Osli continues to delete sentences from the intro it will clearly be vandalism and if he continues, perhaps he can be banned. Then we can concentrate on the article and let our own differences of opinion be a source for constructive conversation and continuing improvement of the article.
What do you think? Fairview360 00:48, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] I am being reasonable, my friend
Greetings!
Please try to view it from my neutral eyes. Most Serbs believe that the population of Medieval Bosnia were Serbs based on many historicly documented evidences. I have received requests to have Tvrtko and the others put on List of Serbs. The Croats have requested the same based on the fact that they were Catholic. Why have I fought against it? Because wikipedia is an encyclopedia (read this article) that is based solely on facts, mind several other things that manage to sneak by. In other words it is nationalist (in this case Serbian and Croatian) propaganda. I fight against those things. Tvrtko and the co. may be included on on the List of Bosnians. And know I see atempts to insert him on the List of Bosniaks, based on ...what most Bosniaks think? How to decipher that other than even more nationalist propaganda (this time Bosniak).
Also, tell me; would it be right to include all Byzantine Emperors of Illyrian origin, say like... Diocletian at the List of Albanians? Or even stranger, would it be appropriate to include Persian Chah Brastamapratustra on the List of Serbs just because Serbs are of (alleged) Iranni origin? Do you now understand what I mean?
I hope that I did not bother thy person in any way, and look forward to hear your reply. Bye! --HolyRomanEmperor 00:01, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
- Sve je to lijepo.
Pokušavam doprijeti do vašeg načina razmišljanja. I mogu donekle shvatiti.
Hej.

Hi Haris. Thanks for the kind remarks in your last edit. Can you please check carefully what I've written in the Medieval Bosnia section to make sure I've interpreted your version correctly? — JEREMY 12:15, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
- If your English is self-taught, you deserve major kudos! (I am embarrassingly monolingual, although I'm a professional editor, and like to think my English is pretty good. :) Have you see the Bosnian pyramids article about the excavations on Visočiica? It would be very useful to those of us editing that article if you were able to check it over for us to make sure we're not making any serious errors. If you could provide some on-the-ground reporting about the dig (although we need to avoid "original research"), and perhaps even some photographs you were prepared to release under a wikipedia licence, it would be even better. In the meantime, I'll try to do some more to help you with the Visoko article. — JEREMY 12:36, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
- Haris, I was glad that you appreciate the assistance of a native English speaker, and I hope that I carried on the meaning of your translation and did not make any mistakes. I know there are some deeply felt issues. Actually, I know personally several families who were refugees from Bosnia who settled near me in Canberra, the capital city of Australia. I have so little any other languages that it is embarrassing. Best wishes, Peter Ellis 23:23, 5 May 2006 (UTC)

--HolyRomanEmperor 15:35, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 100,000
Hi Haris :) I saw your addition to the "100,000" on the "Jews in BiH" page. Just wondering if you could also add a source for the number of Bosnians who fought with the Partisans -- that would really be cool :) Cheers =) AWN AWN2 14:32, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
- Hi Haris :) The "100,000" reference came from one source, so if you have another source and better figures on what Bosnians did during the War, that would be great. References to the Muslim clergy's response to the Nazis would also be good. I also know that relations between Bosnians and Jews before the War were quite good, and that many Bosnians helped Jews during the Holocaust, but I can't find references for it at the moment, if you have anything, that would also be good :) Cheers, AWN AWN2 00:42, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Lilium bosniacum
Hi. It was me that removed Lilium bosniacum from the Lilium article. I also added the request for references to Lilium bosniacum at the same time. The reason for taking it out from the Lilium article was that I don't see any evidence thaht it is a recognised species, accepted as such by botanists, and by publication in botanical literature. All the other species are listed in recognised floras, but L. bosniacum is not in any accepted lists of species that I know of. Perhaps you could provide any references that you do have. Thanks. [edit] Bosnian images
Thanks for your attention. I noticed that there was a problem because of this edit. Flags are rarely copyrighted, and certainly not Ottoman flags. The image itself was not yet deleted, but following the trace back to the uploader I saw it listed here, and if you look around on that page you see many more problems. Several ofr these images are also on the Bosnian Wikipedia, but not always with the same name; for example Image:Bihacgrb.png here is Slika:GrbOpćinaBihać.PNG over there. --LambiamTalk 16:20, 21 October 2006 (UTC) P.S. It is of course much better if the images are moved to the Wikimedia Commons, so that every Wikipedia can use them. --LambiamTalk 16:27, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] check Srebrenica article
KarlXII who might be a reincarnation of Osli73 and Jitse are deleting the intro to the Srebrenica article. [edit] Some advice
Hello HarisM,
I understand that writing about one's country is always a difficult thing and that your reaction to what you interpret as a hostile action by another user, for adding the reference to combatants from Islamic countries during the war in BiH. I personally do not believe that Hadžija is being unreasonable. The sources provided are verifiable and from a reliable source (the BBC), therefore even if you disagree I believe these are in line with Wikipedia policies and guidelines. This is not to say that the government of Bosnia-Herzegovina at the time called for Jihad, but that many Muslim volunteers did see the cause as Jihad[1][2]. I would also like to ask you to remain civil in your exchanges with other editors, as this would not help you to make your opinion heard indeed. Regards, --Asteriontalk 17:21, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] proposed edit to Section 2.4 of the Srebrenica Massacre article
HarisM,
I just posted the following on the Srebrenica Massacre discussion page and am now, as a courtesy, posting this on the talk pages of frequent editors of the article. Best Regards, Fairview360 02:06, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
Dear editors,
Please visit this version of the Srebrenica Massacre article to see the proposed changes to section 2.4: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Srebrenica_massacre&oldid=117151359
Please visit this site to see the proposed sub-article which the proposed section 2.4 text will be linked to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mass_executions_in_the_Srebrenica_massacre
If there is no major objection, we would like to introduce this major edit to the article this Sunday March 25. This ought to give each editor the time they need to review the proposed changes before they are fully introduced.
The objective here is to make the article more concise while continuing to clearly state what happened and in no way obscure actual events.
A full review of the proposed changes to section 2.4 and the sub-article will show that all information regarding the executions has been preserved and presented in a clear manner.
Thank you for your time and consideration. Fairview360 01:28, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Tvrtko I
Balcan boy tell me reason for deleting Croatian name of Tvrtko in article.--Rjecina (talk) 01:48, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
- I do not see neutral arguments in your comment. Do you want to say that it is OK to write Serbian version of his name, but not Croatian ?
- I am sure that about this we will not have edit war.--Rjecina (talk) 02:09, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
- It is POV to write only Serbian version of name. If you do not understand my point please read Wikipedia:Neutral point of view--Rjecina (talk) 02:33, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
- But I'd like to refrain from using any national denomination, and instead just list the versions of the name. What is wrong with that? Tvrtko's real name was Stefan. And that was over 600 years ago, Stefan wasn't simply a Serbian name - Tvrtko wasn't a Serb and yet he wore it. There's also even a Serb named Stjepan (Stjepan Mitrov Ljubisa) from the 19th century. --PaxEquilibrium (talk) 02:09, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] discussing edits of Bosnian war, Bosnian mujahideen and related articles
Hi, I would really like to avoid a pointless edit war on a number of related articles:
I am sure you agree that the best way to avoid this is to discuss edits on the Talk page. Since the edit conflict in the Mujahideen and Role of foreign fighters in the Bosnian war articles is related to that on the Bosnian mujahideen article, I suggest that the discussion about these three take place there. The edit conflicts on the Bosnian war article should be discussed separately there. How about that? RegardsOsli73 (talk) 15:20, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
- I have protected Bosnian mujahideen. You have several times reverted the page to a version the was originally created by user:Grandy Grandy or one of his/her sockpuppets.[3][4] please discuss in detail on the talk page of Bosnian mujahideen what you think is wrong with the version that user:Osli73 has been reverting to. --Philip Baird Shearer (talk) 01:29, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
- I have just looked at the Bosnian War article and also not that you have recently reverted to a version by yet another sockpuppet of user:Grandy Grandy.[5] and also in the article Role of foreign fighters in the Bosnian War [6]. Was user:Grandy Grandy a sock puppet of yours? --Philip Baird Shearer (talk) 01:46, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

From my talk page:
- It is interesting that you didn't react about Osli's vandalism in Srebrenica massacre article, when he removed (he does that all the time), some quotes from the ICTY verdict which means you are biased. Why?
(1)The Srebrenica massacre is not on my watch list so the day to day squabbles over that page pass me by. (2) In the diff you have given AFAICT the only substancial delete was the sentence that starts: "A fierce struggle for territorial control ..." which is not sourced. (3) I would have reverted the edits as well because shifting the "Paddy Ashdown" sentence above the citations implies that the citations covers the Paddy Ashdown factoid which AFAICT it does not. (4) What do you mean by biased? --Philip Baird Shearer (talk) 17:21, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Sources
On talk page of article Serbs of Croatia we are creating rules about sources which will be used for articles about Yugoslav Wars (Talk:Serbs of Croatia). Because until now nobody has represented Bosniaks positions about NPOV sources I am calling you to discusson and vote. In table you need to change name new editor to HarisM and give your vote in section NPOV sources. If you are not interested can you please give this call to another Bosnian editor ?--Rjecina (talk) 07:31, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Hey
Sorry Haris, long time no hear from me. My bad! I had other issues in my life...I am not sure which articles you are referring to? Kruško Mortale (talk) 19:59, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
- Haris, I made a few corrections in those articles you edited, but I haven't seen any major inconsistency. But if you want me to help you with any particular article, please inform me, I'll be glad to do that. Kruško Mortale (talk) 21:49, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
