[edit] Von vs von
Checking all my old sheet music, the "Von" in "Harry Von Tilzer" is always capitalized. "Von" in other names may not usually be capitalized, but as this was not his given name but rather the name he chose for himself, I presume he could spell or capitalize it as he wished. -- Infrogmation 07:35, 10 Nov 2003 (UTC)
[edit] Judy Garland not a neice of his
Frances Gumm - AKA as Judy Garland - was no relation to Von Tilzer at all and certainly not a neice Frank Gumm (her father had 2 brothers and 1 sister - and - her paternal family's (original spelling Gum with only one M) name was not "shortened from 'Gummbinsky' or to any other form - Garland's paternal family were a combination of English, Irish, Scottish and French Hugenot - not German nor Jewish. There are Gums and Gumms listed in the archives of Virginia and Tennessee going back to the early 18th Century. The Gumm family name that she is descended from originated in England (Kent) - the Gumms were Episcopalians and settled America in the pre-revolutionary war days of the 18th Century . Her maternal family (Milne and Fitzpatrick) hails from Scotland and Ireland - all of this is well documented and readily verifiable any attempt to link her to Von Tilzer or any other heritage is mis-information and vandalism at its worst i.e. when editors purposely add mis-information to promte something untrue or for other nefarious personal reasons.Vono 12:23, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
