A Phoenix is a mythical creature possessing a number of magical abilities in the Harry Potter series by J.K.Rowling. A tail feather of a phoenix is sometimes used as the core of a magical wand. Whenever a phoenix dies, whether it be by violence or old age, it bursts into flame and is promptly reborn out of the ashes as a baby phoenix.
Phoenix tears are said to have healing properties. These birds can carry immensely heavy weights. In the series only Dumbledore's pet Fawkes is the only phoenix that is mentioned. It is said to be colored red and gold and roughly the size of a swan. Interestingly both Harry Potter's and Lord Voldemort's have Fawkes' tail feather in their wand core.

Hippogriff
Hippogriff

Hippogriff's are mythical creatures in the Harry Potter series by J.K.Rowling. They are offsprings of an eagle and a mare. Hippogriffs are very calm, powerful giants, but are touchy creatures and demand respect. One must bow and keep eye contact before approaching.

In the stories, a Hippogriff by the name Buckbeak is kept by the gamekeeper Hagrid. Buckbeak looks to be a fusion of a giant Harpy Eagle and a gray horse, with a wingspan of nearly 20 feet. Horses generally weigh between 1300 and 2000 pounds, but because of his bird characteristics, he is lighter at just under half of a ton.

Whomping Willows are large trees which seem to smash anything that touches it. They are very expensive and dangerous but they can also be used for security and the way they smash things could be a way the tree hunts for food. For Example the Venus Fly Trap catches flies. The Whomping Willow due to it's size can catch larger prey. Harry and Ron encounter a Whomping Willow trying to smash them while they were still in Ron's father's flying car, in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets No.2
