Description

Two AV-8C Harrier aircraft and a UH-1N Twin Huey helicopter are parked on the flight deck of the U.S. amphibious assault ship USS Nassau (LHA-4) on 4 January 1982. The two Harriers belonged to U.S. Marine Corps light attack squadrons VMA-542 Tigers (BuNo 158956, tail code "WH"), and VMA-231 Ace of Spades (BuNo 158705, tail code "CG"). 158705 was retired to AMARC as 7A0028 on 26 September 1986, but 158956 crashed at MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina (USA), on 4 March 1982.
