Harvey Unga

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Harvey Unga is a red-shirt sophomore running back for the BYU Cougars football team. He distinguished himself in their season opener against the Arizona Wildcats in 2007 by earning the Mountain West Conference (MWC) offensive player of the week award. Unga earned that award that season in the final regular game against the Utah Utes. He became the starting running back in 2007 due to the injury of Fui Vakapuna in the prior season. As a starter, Harvey ran for over 1000 yards in just 11 games, with this mark reached in the 2nd quarter against their in-state rivals, Utah, on Nov. 24, 2007.

He was named the MWC Freshman of the Year. [1] [2] As of Dec. 1, 2007, he has the second most yards gained by a freshman in the MWC ever, and 3rd among all freshman runningbacks in the nation this season.[3] The yards he will make in the Las Vegas bowl game will be counted to his total yards as a freshman.
