Harvest Moon Online is an online version of the Harvest Moon series. It will be the first non hand-held game of the series to use network capabilities. No targeted systems for the game have been announced, although the PC and seventh generation consoles (Xbox 360, PS3, Nintendo Wii) have been mentioned as possible destinations for Harvest Moon Online. [1]
[edit] Gameplay
As of yet there is no word on game play but it is likely the goals that are at heart of the series will remain. These being growing crops, raising animals, and getting married. [2] Yasuhiro Wada, the creator of the Harvest Moon franchise, is not considering MMO scale online play, but two to eight players visiting the towns of others. [3]
[edit] Fan Game
In mid-2002, a small group of Harvest Moon fans began developing an online version of the SNES Harvest Moon. In 2006, the development team announced its cancellation, citing a lack of progress and an increased chance of lawsuit from Marvelous Interactive.[4]
