Hartwood railway station is a railway station serving Hartwood in North Lanarkshire, Scotland. It is located on the Shotts Line 31 km (19 miles) east of Glasgow Central towards Edinburgh Waverley. The station has two platforms, connected by a stairway footbridge. It is managed by First ScotRail.

The station was built within the grounds of Hartwood Hospital, a major psychiatric hospital, which used to provide the bulk of the passenger traffic. This hospital was closed in 1999, with its services transferred to the nearby Hartwoodhill Hospital, but this is too far away to make use of the train station

[edit] Services

Due to the very low usage of the station, it is one of those earmarked to be skipped by new express services planned for the line in order to speed up the service from Glasgow to Edinburgh.

It is currently served, Monday to Saturday, by one First ScotRail service each hour from Glasgow Central to Edinburgh Waverley. One train a day from Edinburgh terminates at Motherwell. There is no Sunday service at this station.
