Coordinates: Harsud was a town and a nagar panchayat in Khandwa in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.

Harsud was located at [1] It has an average elevation of 244 metres (800 feet). Now it is not on that location due to Indira Sagar Dam. That town has been shifted to Chhanera(New Harsud). Old Harsud is submerged.

As of 2001 India census,[2] Harsud had a population of 15,869. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Harsud has an average literacy rate of 69%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 77%, and female literacy is 61%. In Harsud, 14% of the population was under 6 years of age.
