Harshpur

Harshpur is a village in the state of Uttar Pradesh in the Pratapgarh District. Harshpur is also pronounced as Harakhpur The population of this village is over Twelve hundred(2008). Although the village is a home to host of castes viz, kshatriyas, schedule castes and schedule tribes it is dominated by somvansi kshatriyas. Most of the population of this village lives in Badki bakhri. The people of this village worship Pehalwan vir Baba. It is believed that they call the Hindu god Hanuman by the name of Pehlwan vir Baba. The villagers have also built a temple of pehlwan Vir Baba close to the oldest well of the village. the bazar is mandhata and the connecting station is bishnathganj which is also known as vishwanath ganj PRATAPGARH is famous for amla a fruit having lots and lots of medicinal proerties.
