From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Henri ("Harry") Gerard Vriend (born May 20, 1938 in Amsterdam, Noord-Holland) is a former water polo player from The Netherlands, who competed in two Summer Olympics for his native country. In 1960 he finished in eighth position with the Dutch Men's Team. Four years later in Tokyo he once again became eighth with the Holland squad. His brother Wim was also part of that team.

After his active career Vriend became a water polo coach; in the 1970s he was the head coach of the Dutch Men's Team. He stayed close to the sport afterwards and worked for NOS Studio Sport, the Dutch tv-sports program, as a swimming and water polo commentator.
