Harry Trihey

Henry Judah Trihey (December 25, 1877 in Berlin, Ontario – December 9, 1942) was a Canadian amateur ice hockey forward who played for the Montreal Shamrocks.

Harry Trihey was captain of "The Fighting Irish," better known as the Montreal Shamrocks of the CAHL. He was not a Montrealer by birth, but played a high level of ice hockey since his youth in Berlin.[1] Trihey debuted with the Shamrocks in a one game appearance in 1897 and quickly earned a full-time spot on the roster. On February 4, 1899 Trihey amassed ten goals in one game in a match versus Quebec. He would go on to lead the Shamrocks to three consecutive Stanley Cup titles.

Trihey served as secretary-treasurer and president of the CAHL following his retirement as a player. He also served as a referee and sat on the advisory board of the Montreal Wanderers Hockey Club. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1950.[2]
