Harry Rosen Inc. operates a chain of 16 high-end men's clothes stores in cities across Canada.
Founded by Harry Rosen in 1954, as single 500-square-foot store in Cabbagetown, Toronto. By 2001, it had 16 stores in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal. It also operated a free-standing Ermenegildo Zegna store in Vancouver.
Rosen credits much of his early success to Stann Burkhoff. This customer of his, offered to create advertisements in exchange for two suits- one for him and one for his art director, Reid Bell. Burkhoff and Bell developed the extremely successful "Ask Harry" campaign. This campaign featured provocative text with simple, yet eye catching, graphics in a Canadian national newspaper, The Globe and Mail.
In 1997, Larry Rosen, Harry's son, was named President and Chief Operating Officer. In 2000, Larry took over for Harry as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
