Harry Potter Movie Magic Experience
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Harry Potter Movie Magic Experience at Warner Bros. Movie World is a fully recreated Diagon Alley and Hogwarts Express, with a display of sets inspired by the film and real film artifacts.
Fans were able to walk along Diagon Alley past Ollivander's Wand Shop and into Harry's dormitory, then discover the art of "sending an owl" in a real life owl display.
This exhibit was closed on 31 July 2002, rather than updated for the later movies.
It became the Official Matrix Exhibit. For a short time the Chamber of Secrets remained open but this, closed leaving the Harry Potter Gift Shop on the main street - a Diagon Alley-style premises. Kids dressed as generic Hogwarts students remained walking around the Main Street area, but this was soon discontinued as there was not much of an appropriately themed environment for them to walk around in.
As of 2006, atmosphere performers from the Harry Potter series still perform in the park. These include Professor Snape, Madam Hooch, the Weasley twins and Molly Weasley.
A Harry Potter-themed area in Universal's Islands of Adventure theme park in Orlando, Florida will open some time from late 2009 to early 2010. The new area will be called "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter" and contain several areas from the books and movies.
