[edit] Biography
Lloyd was born in London, England. He is the great-great-great-grandson of the Victorian writer Charles Dickens[1] - his mother's maiden name is Dickens. [2] Lloyd was educated at Eton College and while there, he was cast as young Steerforth in the 1999 David Copperfield and then in 2002, he was cast as young Rivers in Goodbye Mr Chips. Lloyd went on to study English at Christ Church, Oxford, where he joined the Oxford University Dramatic Society appearing in several plays, he appeared in the role of Valentin in Kiss of the Spider Woman and as Antipholus of Syracuse in Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors for the OUDS 2005 Summer tour to Japan alongside Felicity Jones. He left Oxford in 2005, graduating with an upper second degree.
He has gone on to play Will Scarlett in both series of the BBC drama series Robin Hood which began in 2006.
In early 2007 Lloyd made his professional stage debut, at the Trafalgar Studios in A Gaggle of Saints, one of three short plays that make up Neil LaBute's Bash, for which he received many positive reviews[3] [4] [5] [6].
Lloyd played Jeremy Baines, a student whose mind is taken over by a species of aliens called 'The Family of Blood', in the Doctor Who episodes "Human Nature" and "The Family of Blood". He has since been suggested as a possible candidate to play the Doctor when David Tennant leaves the role, based on a comment made by Russell T. Davies in an Interview with PR Wire.[7] He returned to the stage in The Good Family part of a double bill called The Family Plays, two short plays in their UK premiere productions as part of the Royal Court Theatre's International Playwright's Season.
He appears in the mini series Heroes and Villains: Richard the Lion Heart and in 2008 will appear in The Sea at the Theatre Royal, Haymarket.
Fans have e-mailed Tiger Aspect, the production company who makes Robin Hood, to see if he will be appearing in Series 3, they responded by saying "storylines change daily and we therefore cannot confirm Will or Djaq's return or otherwise"[citation needed].
