Harry Black (River City)

Harry Black (played by Carter Ferguson) is a fictional character in the BBC Scotland soap, River City.
Harry is apparently Shieldinch's only honest local policemen. Loyal to DCI Eddie Hunter who was murdered on his doorstep by an unknown gunman, he appears to be the only one wishing that this murderer to be brought to justice. The new DCI, Whiteside, played by Michael Nardone dislikes Harry and is clearly involved somehow in the death of DCI Hunter. Harry previously dated Ruth Rossi played by Morag Calder but this relationship ended badly as Ruth's unstable mental state led to Harry's transfer to another division.
The character of Harry Black appears irregularly but often for prolonged periods within the show. He has regular close links with the Hunter family, Scott Wallace, Ruth Rossi and Gerry McGrade the lawyer.
Carter Ferguson is also Scotland's leading fight director. He has directed fights in approximately 50 episodes of River City and works regularly on Taggart. His website can be seen HERE
