Harrison Ford (March 16, 1884December 2, 1957) was an U.S. actor in the silent film era of the 1910s and 20s.

Born in Kansas City, Missouri, Harrison Ford began acting on stage and made his Broadway debut in 1904. He turned to film beginning in 1915 and moved to Hollywood. He became a leading man opposite early stars such as Constance Talmadge, Norma Talmadge, Marie Prevost, Marion Davies, and Clara Bow.

Ford's acting career ended with the advent of talkies. His final film, and only talkie, "Love in High Gear", was released in 1932. He returned to acting in the theatre afterwards. He also directed productions at the Little Theater of the Verdugos in Glendale, California.

During World War II, he toured with the United Service Organizations (USO). In the early 1950s, he was struck by a car while out walking. He never recovered from the severe injuries received and died in 1957 in the Motion Picture & Television Country House and Hospital in Woodland Hills, California. He was interred in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Glendale.

For his contribution to the motion picture industry, Harrison Ford has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in front of the Musso & Frank restaurant at 6665 Hollywood Blvd. The expense of maintaining that star is now paid by the modern actor Harrison Ford, who is not related and was not even aware of the earlier Ford when he himself first arrived in Hollywood. The modern Harrison Ford has told an amusing anecdote in interviews: during his early scuffling days, wondering if he would ever achieve stardom, he was astonished to discover a star in the Hollywood sidewalk bearing the name "Harrison Ford". Since he was then unaware of the silent-film actor, he could not understand how his own name had been placed there.

One of the films in which the silent actor Harrison Ford appeared was Erich von Stroheim's Foolish Wives, in which he played a soldier. Foolish Wives would figure in an episode of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. In an episode set in Hollywood, young Indy (played by Sean Patrick Flanery) is sent to Hollywood by Carl Laemmle to order Erich von Stroheim (played by Dana Gladstone) to shut down production on "Foolish Wives" -- something the ego-maniacal director refuses to do, despite Indy's efforts.
