[edit] About

Harpeth Hall was founded in 1951 as the replacement to Ward-Belmont College south of downtown Nashville. It was built as a non-residential (day) school in the Green Hills neighborhood, an affluent residential area southwest of downtown Nashville. It is dedicated to academic excellence in a single-gender environment. The graduates of Harpeth Hall matriculate to many of the best colleges and universities in the world.

It is often regarded as a sister institution to Montgomery Bell Academy. The two institutions do co-operate in certain areas such as dramatic presentations, and Harpeth Hall supplies some of MBA's cheerleaders. They occasionally also are scheduled together for basketball games.

The school is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Harpeth Hall is also a member of the National Association of Independent Schools, the Tennessee Association of Independent Schools, and the National Coalition of Girls' Schools.
