Hari Chand is one of the few great distance runners that India has produced.
In 1976 at the Montreal Olympics, he placed 8th in the 10,000 meter run. In 1980 at the Moscow Olympics, he placed 10th in the 10,000 meter run. He also placed 22th in the 1980 Olympic Men's Marathon.
