Hari-namamrta-vyakarana - fundamental Gaudia Vaishnava grammar by Jiva Goswami. Hari-nāmāmṛta-vyākaraṇam (literally, "The Grammar of the Nectar of the Names of Hari") of Jiva is a unique Sanskrit grammar in which all the technical terms in the sutras are names of Krishna or his associates.[1] There also exists an abridged version of the work published as Sanksepa-hari-namamrta-vyakarana.

[edit] Example

For example the meter of the first pāda - quarter of maha mantra, is like this:
ha re kṛ ṣṇa ha re kṛ ṣṇa
| - S - S - | - | - S - S - S -> the last syllable in a pāda may be optionally guru as in the case of the last syllable ṣṇa
the syllable re is guru and kṛ is also guru because it is followed by a double consonant ṣṇa
kṛ ṣṇa kṛ ṣṇa ha re ha re
S -| - S - | - | - S- | -S
hare rāma hare rāma rāma rāma hare hare
All meters of
4 syllables are called pratiṣthā
5 syllables are called supratiṣthā
6 syllables are called gāyatrī
7 syllables are called uṣṇik
8 syllables are called anuṣṭup etc.
