Harehills is an inner-city area of the city of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England It is approximately 2 km (1 mile) north east of Leeds City Centre.

It is situated between Burmantofts and Gipton, and adjacent to Chapeltown, characterised by its streets of dense, back-to-back terraced housing. The area is home to a large south Asian community, with a growing population of African and Eastern European residents.

Despite many perceptions of the area, Harehills is not all bad, with many clean and well kept streets.

Harehills Parade, a lively shopping area at the junction of Roundhay Road (A58 road), Harehills Lane and Harehills Road by the new supermarket called "CC Continental Supermarket". Also, heading 1 km (⅔ mile) up Harehills Lane towards the A64 York Road at the junction with Compton Road, is Harehills's other main shopping area.

In 2001, there was rioting in Harehills after an Asian man was arrested by the Police. This followed riots earlier that summer in South Asian communities in Oldham and Bradford.

One of the interesting features of Harehills is the Masjid it is one of a few purpose built mosques in the UK.

Another upside to Harehills, is that the Deputy Lord Mayor of Leeds, lives there.
