It is apparent that this is an issue around which politics is formulated (such as memorials being erected, etc.) and that notablity can thus be asserted, but either there is an assesment of factual accuracy of historical events (to which 'Bed Times Stories' isn't the prime source of information) or its is referred to as a possibly fictional event. --Soman 15:57, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

Note the Pakistani newspaper cited.--ISKapoor 01:06, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Yes, I did notice that one. Obviously this is an issue around which politics is being formulated, memorials erected, schools baptized after the person, ceremoies are held etc.. My question regards the description of the actual historical events, for which I have some difficultly accepting 'Bed Times Stories' as a reliable source. --Soman 13:28, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Probably not a hoax, quite a few hits for Haqiqat Rai including a school, however most bios are rewrites from the same source, including this article (using different words, changing the orderof the presentation of information etc), if anything I would be worried about copyvio more than a hoax. I suspect that 'Bed time stories' is being so frequently because it is the only easily available English source, I imagine it to be a book of stories intended as instruction for children (e.g.Washington and the cherry tree etc)KTo288 00:39, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

Yes, there are other sources. I will have to dig them out.--ISKapoor (talk) 03:53, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
