This article is somewhat POV. I myself have been a victim of such a "prank", and there's nothing amusing in it. --HRE 17:06, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
- Indeed. Suggestions about how to NPOV are welcome. Zuiram 01:41, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

Interesting, I came across such a practise in Singapore's Junior College as well, though the term used was "pillaring" because usually it was done against pillars or colomns of buildings. 218.186.8.12 14:07, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

I'm somewhat new to editing on Wikipedia, so forgive me if this comment isn't in the proper format ... I was actually researching this practice because an adult acquaintance of mine is clearly still suffering from its emotional consequences. A few suggestions: 1) Perhaps a less cartoonish picture will make people less inclined to think of this article as a hoax. I know there are (unfortunately) many photos out there, but I'm not sure about copyright issues. 2) I think the "Scope and variations" section could use some cleaning up and organization -- The example from The Faculty should perhaps be listed in a new section entitled "References in Popular Culture" or somesuch.
