Hapuna Beach State Recreation Area

Hapuna Beach State Recreation Area is a protected area on the Big Island of Hawaii. People go there mainly to boogie board and to play in the sand. Up by the handicap parking spots in the forest there are protected feral cats. These cats get little houses to live in. People also leave cat food for them and other food.
Very arid climate compared to the rest of the island. It is popular with young families and there is a hotel nearby, the Hapuna Beach Hotel and Resort.
