TV.com summary |
Happy Hour is a short-lived sitcom that debuted on Fox in the United States and on CTV in Canada on September 7, 2006. The show starred John Sloan as Henry Beckman, a young man rebuilding his life after losing his girlfriend, his job, and his apartment. The series was produced by husband/wife duo Jeff and Jackie Filgo of That '70s Show fame and has been stated to be "an edgier Friends."
On September 24, 2006, Fox put the show on hiatus along with another new series, Justice, with a promise that it would return after the World Series with new episodes. [1]. The show did air one new episode after the end of the World Series on November 2, 2006. But the next day after low Nielsen overnight ratings came in, Fox pulled the show off the schedule with no plans to return it, most likely resulting in cancellation. [2] Later on that day, Happy Hour's minisite on FOX.com's website was taken down, further adding to this claim.
Happy Hour has produced 13 episodes, of which 4 have aired and 9 remain unaired.
On May 16, 2007, Happy Hour was officially cancelled.
