Hap Holmes

Harry "Hap" Holmes ( born February 21, 1888 in Aurora, Ontario - died June 27, 1941) was a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender who played for the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Detroit Cougars (which became the Detroit Red Wings) in the National Hockey League. He also played for the Seattle Metropolitans and Victoria Cougars of the Pacific Coast Hockey Association, and the Toronto Blueshirts of the National Hockey Association.
Holmes was the first goalie to win the Stanley Cup with four different franchises, the Maple Leafs, Metropolitans, Cougars, and Blueshirts. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1972.
He died in the summer of 1940 in Florida while vacationing. His memory is perpetuated in the Hap Holmes Memorial Award, given annually to the top goaltender in the American Hockey League.
