The books

Shouldn't a part about the books based off of Hannah Montana be added to the page? They actually exist and I own one myslelf. link link link So far I've identified #1: Keeping Secrets, #2: Face Off, and #4: Truth or Dare. Øřêōş 02:40, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

O.K That not a bad idea. Atomic45 10:02, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

I think that there should be a section or maybe even a page on the books like there is for the game. I don't know enough about them to right it ... Mouseinthehouse 17:00, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

There is a page on the books but it wasn't very substantial, didn't have much content and wasn't catorgarized. I have improved it and added it to the disambiguation page. Mouseinthehouse 14:17, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Please do not use this talk page as a place for talking gibberish that has no consequence to the article in question in any way. Thank you. Mouseinthehouse 17:22, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Miley's mom

How did Miley's mom die because the plane crash mentioned in the main article is just a rumor. --Robors 20:10, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

The show or show's website has not confirmed anything yet so I really do not know. I'm going to delete the part that says how her mother dies in the article if noone objects in the next week.Just a heads up!Urena198 23:12, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Vandalism

Perhaps we should have this semi-protected? It's been hit alot today. Missjessica254 18:32, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Well, some of the "hits" have been by registered users, so semiprotect would not help much with that. Unfortunately for the registered users who repeatedly vandalize though - frankly it is easier to block them as vandalism-only accounts. Anyway normally semiprotect is used for anonymous IP vandalism that extends longer than just "today's lunch period", when the kids in the library at some school in Colorado get a little too much sugar and go a little crazy. But yes - if it becomes an extended pattern over several hours and days, and by mostly anonymous IP addresses and newbies, then semiprotect might certainly cut down on the cleanup. The best thing to do at this point is be aware of a "good" version in the recent archives, and simply revert back to it as needed if a pile of vandalism starts to form during lunch or after school. --T-dot (Talk | contribs) 18:43, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Layout

Regarding the recent editing. I agree with most of the changes. However, it seems to make more sense to me to have the plot listed first. Particularly for readers who are not familiar with the show coming to see what it is all about. I'm going to make these changes based on reasons above. Missjessica254 18:12, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

Copyright

I am trying to alert people to the fact that a not very well known page, List of Hannah Montana music videos, has links to YouTube music videos which are actually illegal under copyright laws. Is there any point in having a page where the entire content shouldn't be there? I am putting this comment on this page rather than that page because I didn't think anyone would see it if I posted it there. Mouseinthehouse 19:07, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

Notable Appearances

Please stop deleting the reference to Larry David. He is notable, he made an appearance, it's staying on the page. Missjessica254 14:19, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

Vandalism

Someone has wiped the page that comes up when you type in the search box Hannah Montana. I'm not very experienced at Wiki so can someone better do something!! Mouseinthehouse 16:06, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

I think I fixed it but if anyone finds anything wrong with it feel free to change it. Thanks. Mouseinthehouse 16:10, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

Huh. Tell me, why do I feel vaguely guilty every time I revert the latest vandalism on this page? ...Actually, don't bother. I do it anyway. vlad§inger tlk 02:19, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

List Of Episodes

Someone has tried to edit the list of episodes page unsucessfully. I can't do tables but could someone who knows what they are doing rectify it. Thanks. Mouseinthehouse 16:55, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

Thank you, all for your continued work keeping these articals clean and accurate. Children; are in a craze over "Hannah Montana" right now and will do anything to either stamp there name on the page or destroy the artical as a whole. It is your continued efforts that keep things clear, Thank You!

Trivia Section

I have cleaned up the trivia section and dispearsed all the trivia into this and other articles. However this piece of trivia:

I can't find a place to put it. Is it really necessary. I will delete it for now but keep it on this page. Mouseinthehouse 14:39, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

Notability of Articles

Somebody has put notices on all the hannah montana episode pages saying that they are not notable enough to be a wiki page. I disagree and think that they are notable. Please comment below: Mouseinthehouse 17:34, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

How does one establish a TV episode's notability (aside from "milestone" episodes)? WAVY 10 16:35, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Exactly. Mouseinthehouse 16:50, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

Well according to the guideline at WP:EPISODE they need to have real world information, like production details and critical reception. Now I added ratings for some of the episodes, but that's not enough really, there needs to be more about what the critics think about an episode and such. Although I think it's being worked on now, a guideline for writing season pages is going to be established soon. I think it would be easier to have a season page to put the episodes into and production details and critical reception can probably be found for that much easier than individual episodes. Some episodes might deserve their own articles, like cross-overs like this and I think the pilot of any series is almost inherently notable, but they still need to have production sections. Right now the articles are mostly over-blown plot summaries, trivia, and goofs, I know you've cut out some of that and I've done so also, but I think if nothing is added to them they will all be redirected when the episode review is fully established. Phydend 17:19, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
I just did a quick skim and from what I gather, most of the troublesome episode articles are from season 1, as there is mention of production info for Season 2 (currently running). That said, we must do something to either clean up or (gasp) redirect SOME of the articles in question. (Parenthetical: I think the season premiere and this one COULD be considered notable.) WAVY 10 20:45, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, I added a lot of the production info on the season 2 articles. The problem, though, is that even though I added the sections, I only added a reference for the viewers they got, there is nothing about critical response for the episodes or production details. Although it's not right to compare episodes of different tv shows, this Simpsons episode is something to strive for as it is a featured article. It gives references, reception, and production details. It helps that it can reference a DVD commentary, and I'm not sure if there is a DVD out for any of these episodes yet, or if it will or has a commentary, but if it does that can definitely help to expand the article and give production details. Now for the reception, I'm not sure if there is much critical response for this series, but the I Am Hannah, Hear Me Croak episode that you mentioned probably did have someone write something about it. I did a cursory search and couldn't find much, but there is probably something out there if someone wants to look harder for it. I think a few of these episodes might be notable enough (like the 2 you mention and maybe others) and should be worked on to establish that notability before they are redirected to set as examples for future articles. Phydend 03:26, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
I hate to say this, but I think the episode thing may be a losing battle. WAVY 10 17:55, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

CANCELATION??

ARE THEY REALLY GOING TO CANCEL THE SHOW IN AUGUST 2007!!!!!?????!!! ANSWER PLEASE SOON! ~Sirideroo

This is not a forum to discuss the show. However, there was no source, and the editor who added it has been adding nonsense to other articles, e.g. that Angelina Jolie died in a car crash. I did a quick google search and found no mention of a cancellation. There is a good chance that it is just some silly addition, but I wont remove it as I am not completely sure. Alcemáe TC 18:52, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
It was just reverted. Alcemáe TC 18:53, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
It was vandalism. No cite. This would have been BIG news. I reverted it. --NrDg 18:56, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

Thank you I did a google search too and nothing came up. I thought they probably wouldn't Thanks again <Sirideroo>

Its a good possiblility with Miley Cyrus' pregnancy rumors floating around. Disney doesn't take that, look at Vannessa Anne Hudgens, her career is shot because of those pictures.

Possible Inspiration?

Series creator Michael Poryes got his start on Saved by the Bell, and there was an episode of that show's predecessor, Good Morning, Miss Bliss, where a girl named Colleen (played by Suzanne Tara) doubled as a singer named "Stevie" (but was about to retire in order to attend college).

Could this be a possible inspiration for this series considering Poryes' role on both programs? WAVY 10 14:01, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

Sounds possible... is there any way of proving it though? Mouseinthehouse 16:44, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

Alyson was considered as a guest star, and never actually auditioned for Hannah Montana. She confirmed this rumor as false a long time ago on her website, alysonstoner.com...i keep deleting it and it keeps being readded!

Trivia

Please do not keep adding a trivia section as it gets out of hand. I have just deleted all the trivia that has been put up and it is here. I recently spent ages cleaning it up so please do not put it there. Put it on individual ep. pages. Mouseinthehouse 19:49, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

French Fry????

On the first episode of Hannah Montana (Lily DO You Wanna Know A Secret) there is a scene where Robbie had to take a french fry out of her hair. It was really tangled and caught so Robbie had to make up a line out of his head which was "That suckers really in here". Darius 21:42, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

Miley's Middle Name

In "I Want You To Want Me.....To Go To Florida", when Miley had said "I Hate You" to her dad, he yelled Miley Ray Stewart. This is a clue that her middle name is ray. I had put this one a couple of the many Hannah Montana articles, but it got deleted. If you could please put it back. ThanksMitchlover11 20:38, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

He actually yelled just "Miley Ray". It is in the Miley Stewart article. Middle names are not used in other articles except for the main character one unless that name is used as part of the common name such as Robby Ray. --NrDg 20:50, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

Robbie did say this but was not "in right condition" at the time. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.72.39.220 (talk) 01:42, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

Its probably just a joke about her father's name, Billy RAY Cyrus. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.183.68.197 (talk) 20:40, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Picture Format

I removed picture_format in the info box. Broadcast quality and aspect refutes a 1080i recording format which is a HDTV digital 16x9 production. I see no indication in the DVD sets and in what is broadcast that there is a display down-convert from a HDTV recording. It would be nice if this info could be in the article. I am guessing analog betacam due to quality seen but have no references to support that. Would appreciate help in determining this. --NrDg 21:35, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

Newly added songs

I'm not going to delete the section until it has been discussed but I don't feel that a list of songs should be in this article. This article is already very long and I feel that they should just be on the albums article. Missjessica254 17:07, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

This section is the only unique part of the Hannah Montana (Star) article. I am trying to get that article deleted as it is pretty much a copy of the Miley Stewart article. I am just merging content right now. Length of an article should not be an issue as long as the content adds to the article. The song list is with respect to the show itself, not the albums and gives references to the episode the song is used in. The list of episodes lists the same information indexed from the point of view of the episodes. I would like the section to stay. See what other editors think before deciding what to do. --NrDg 17:14, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
I did a {{main|List of Hannah Montana songs}} to point to same thing in its own article.--NrDg 21:46, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
That'll work. Thanks and keep up the good editing! Missjessica254 15:20, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

Lawsuit

Anyone know anything concerning a lawsuit filed by a former Smothers Brothers writer who claims to have been the one to compose a concept for what became this show? WAVY 10 14:25, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

I don't know much about it, but seeing as though E! News is a reliable source, it must be true, though a news article is never written in stone as I've learned. Maybe we should leave that section as is until all of the courtroom stuff is settled. ZSoraz 15:08, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
Associated Press is carrying the news and that is about as reliable as it gets. I put in the E! News cite as it had an identified writer and seemed to have more detail than the Associated Press feed did. The original cite was just an article in a paper with the AP feed. --NrDg 15:51, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

I knew this show's concept sounded something similiar to something before. It was just too good to be true. and we know how that turns out.199.80.117.25 15:07, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

Not the first time Disney has done this. A teacher in Dallas is trying to get some compensation for "High School" musical for the same reasons. Don't know how far he got though. Missjessica254 16:40, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

concert ticket controversy

This page is currently locked but it needs a mention about a controversy that is growing with the 2007 concert tour. In numerous cities including Sunrise FL (Miami metro area), Louisville, Charlotte, Nashville, Little Rock, and other cities the tickets were sold out in such a rapid manner that virtually the only way to get tickets is through a scalper charging thousands of dollars per ticket.

http://hubpages.com/hub/HANNAH-MONTANA http://www.wkrn.com/nashville/news/hannah-montana-ticket-sellout-prices-spark-outrage/114978.htm http://www.wcnc.com/news/local/stories/wcnc-091707-ar-Hannah_Montana_Tickets.e2280cbf.html http://www.shreveporttimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070916/NEWS01/709160314 http://www.miamiherald.com/news/breaking_news/story/238902.html

Radio reports in Little Rock mentioned that only the first 19 people in line were able to get tickets. Even though the state of Arkansas prohibits scalping the attorney general's office told KARN news radio that they do not have jurisdiction to go after these scalpers. Some patrons on the Ticketmaster website found that tickets were sold out at exactly 10:00 AM 9/15/07 (the time tickets were to go on sale).

The rate that the tickets sold out in these arenas suggests that certain scalpers may have had an unfair access to the tickets prior to them officially going on sale by Ticketmaster. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pj367 (talk • contribs) 20:40, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

This does not belong in an article about Hannah Montana as this really has nothing to do with Disney or anything that Disney has control over. A mention using those references about the tour being sold out so far would be appropriate, but scalping in general and conspiracy conjectures seems out of line for this article. The subject is handled in the Ticket resale article which describes in a more generally useful manner what is going on. --NrDg 21:18, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
I guess if Disney has no problem with their fans being gouged by scalpers then there isn't much that the fans can do, other than refuse to pay the prices and refuse to give Disney their money. It is sad that Disney feels that way. Pj367 21:26, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
This gets into commentary about motives that shouldn't be in the article. The article on Ticket resale describes what is happening. Disney might or might not have a major problem with their fans being gouged, but has absolutely no control over what happens after Ticketmaster sells the tickets and Disney gets no more than the face value of the ticket sold no matter what the end buyer pays. The reseller gets the profit, not Disney. The article on Miley Cyrus looks to be a better place to put information about the tour as it is already mentioned there. Probably just say the tour is being sold out and that the demand for tickets is not being met using one of the many news reports as a reference. --NrDg 21:55, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
I added this info with a reference to the Miley Cyrus article. --NrDg 22:19, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

Just a quick note, many of the concert tickets are being sold to mileyworld.com fan club members in a presale. The Ft. Worth show sold out in just about 12 minutes. Missjessica254 16:53, 18 September 2007 (UTC) ]

I couldn't find the news piece online, but I just saw this on ABC Channel 2 news in Maryland. A local radio station (WHFS) had a contest where people hit THEIR OWN CARS with a sledgehammer, and whoever made the biggest dent in their car won 2 tickets to the show. If anyone can find this article or video I would appreciate it. Logan (talk) 04:34, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

Theme Song

It's worth adding in the section on the theme song (locked, so I can't do it myself) that Disney added their logo to the Hannah Montana logo from season two onwards, presumably to reinforce the show as a Disney product, and also because this has been the norm on most of their other (particularly animated) series. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tivothumbsup (talk • contribs) 22:51, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

It is irrelevant from the point of view of wiki whether it is true or not. The wiki prime rule is WP:V verifiability from WP:RS reliable sources. We are NOT going to take just your word on this. Continuing to add unverifiable derogatory content to the article after being asked to stop is disruptive editing. This content will NOT stay without proof. This is libelous content and puts wikipedia at legal risk. The proof need not be a web site. A full citation of a real news source giving publication name, date, page, author may be enough for others to verify source reliability and content.
