Is the expression ever used for cameras?
"Hanging fire" has obviously become a phrase outside its technical use? Such as the following phrase:
"A shoal of night-stars hang fire in the nets"
(Sting, The Soul Cages), or as in the title of a song by The Rolling Stones. Pray, what is meant by this?--Sponsianus 23:50, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
