Hanwood

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hanwood is a large village in Shropshire, England.

It is located 3 miles SW of Shrewsbury town centre, on the A488. The A5 is only a mile away. The Cambrian Line runs through the village but there is no longer a station here.

Hanwood has a number of small shops, pubs, a post office and a primary school.

The Rea Brook flows through the village and the village is laid along the floor of a small valley.

Hanwood Bank is a smaller village adjoining Hanwood, further north on the A488 towards Shrewsbury.

Both villages form the main of the parish of Great Hanwood.

The Hanwood & Cruckton Herald is a newsletter distributed free to all households in Hanwood & Cruckton 4 times a year with an associated website [1]. The newsletter editor is Bob Scott.
