H.H. Raj Rajeshwar Maharajadhiraj Shri Hanwant Singh of Jodhpur (16 June 1923 - 26 January 1952)
Hanwart Singh was the ruler of the Indian princely state of Jodhpur from 1947 until 1952. He was a great player of Polo and is accredited as world polo champion, he was a fine magician as well. His Highness succeeded his father as Maharaja of Jodhpur on 9 June 1947.

He was married thrice, firstly in 1943 to HH Maharani Krishna Kumari Ba Sahiba of Dhrangadhra, secondly in 1948 to HH Maharani Sundra Devi (formerly Sandra McBryde). He was succeeded by his son by his first wife, Gaj Singh and a daughter and third wife was the muslim actress of the 1920's Zubeidaa Begum and had a son through her.

He was progressive and had full faith in democracy. In 1952, after Indian independence and formation of Rajasthan as a state within India he formed a new political party, contested elections and won a majority in his region. Unfortunately he died on 26 January 1952 in a plane crash at the young age of just 28.he was said to be the lover of zubeidaa
