[edit] United States career
Gnad played basketball at the University of Alaska Anchorage and was drafted in the 3rd round of the 1987 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers. Instead of signing with Philadelphia, Gnad returned to Germany and began playing with BSC Saturn Köln.
